Dentures Offer A New Smile

If you’ve lost most of your teeth, or possibly all of them, then the overall health, function, and beauty of your smile suffers. Our team can help by replacing what has been lost with a dental prosthetic. Our Southlake, TX, dental office can replace lost teeth with a set of full or partial dentures.

The Loss of Natural Teeth

When you begin to lose your natural teeth, this could impact every facet of your life. You could find it difficult to speak clearly, and you may be severely limited in your meal options. As your jawbone weakens, this could lead to an aged appearance and your remaining teeth could shift from position, leading to dental misalignment. To enjoy your ability to eat your favorite foods and feel confident about your smile, you may need a set of dentures. These restore function and beauty to your smile again, and protect you from major complications related to tooth loss.

Creating Your Dental Prosthetics

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to dental prosthetics. Each one is custom-made for our patients to ensure a proper fit and a balanced bite, as well as a natural appearance and a durable chewing surface. To begin, we will need to take a close look at your smile with digital imagery. We will find out if you have teeth that need to be treated, we will gather digital impressions to aid in the design and fabrication of your dentures. We offer two different options, one to address total tooth loss and another to address complicated cases of tooth loss.

Full and Partial Prosthetics

A full denture replaces every tooth on one or both arches, containing a complete row of new teeth set in an acrylic base that mimics the appearance of gum tissues. These will be held in place with suction or adhesives, and offer a durable and lifelike replacement for missing teeth. With a partial, we can address situations in which you have multiple gaps spread out across your arch, with the denture held in place with metal clasps that connect to natural teeth. These are removable and will need to be soaked and cleaned regularly. They tend to last between five and ten years on average. For a fixed and stabilized alternative, we could secure your prosthetics with multiple dental implants. These never need to be removed for soaking or cleaning, and act as natural teeth. They also prevent the changes to the jaw ridge that necessitate the replacement of your dentures, so your full smile can last for decades to come in some cases.
