CEREC: One-Day Restorations

Tate Family Dentistry utilizes the most advanced technology available to deliver quality oral healthcare to residents of our community. The latest technology paired with our dentists’ skill and experience means that our patients enjoy convenient treatment that promotes optimal oral health. When it comes to providing custom restorations, our team understands that the wait time traditionally associated with custom crowns, inlays, and onlays can be an inconvenience to our patients. To remedy this, we offer same-day restorations with CEREC technology and milling.

CEREC Custom Restorations

Dental crowns, inlays, onlays, and even veneers can be milled same-day with CAD/CAM technology and a CEREC milling machine. These restorations are more extensive than fillings and must be custom made to fit over a patient’s tooth. In the past, restorations like these took longer to create because they were constructed off-site in dental laboratories. In some instances, patients may have had to wait weeks for their restorations to be ready.

CEREC greatly reduces the wait time associated with extensive restorations because it allows our dentist to construct custom restorations from our dental practice. CAD/CAM technology involves using advanced three-dimensional images and computer software to reconstruct a tooth to its rightful size virtually. Once the mock up of the restoration’s specifications are made, our team can mill it – whether it is a crown, inlay, onlay, or veneer – chair side in about an hour.

Convenient and Beautiful Same-Day Restorations

Same-day restorations are incredibly convenient. The reduced wait time eliminates the need for temporary restorations, which can fall out or feel uncomfortable. Receiving a permanent restoration in one day can also reduce oral healthcare costs.

Since CEREC restorations are milled from high quality blocks of ceramic, they produce beautiful and natural looking crowns, inlays, and onlays. Ceramic comes in an array of white shades and reflects light very similarly to the biological structure of teeth. CEREC restorations are practically undetectable to others because they are incredibly lifelike in appearance. In addition to providing a natural appearance, CEREC makes very durable restorations that can last for many years.

Restorations are an important aspect of dental healthcare and fortunately, the latest technology has greatly improved the way that restorative dental work is provided. By embracing the newest advancements in dentistry, our team can provide quality healthcare tailored to the unique needs of the individual.
