The specific technology offered by our practice is called “CEREC”. Our dentist utilizes this technology to enhance patient care. With CEREC, we can place beautiful, tooth-colored restorations in just one day – eliminating the need for long wait times and off-site fabrication.
What are dental crowns?
Dental crowns are extensive restorations used to restore the shape and size of teeth. These restorations are ideal for teeth that have advanced decay, chips, and cracks. Crowns fit over teeth like a cap, covering the biting surfaces and all its sides above the gum line.
Traditional crowns are made from a variety of materials including metals like silver, gold, and zirconium and white materials like porcelain or ceramic.
What do CEREC dental crowns look like?
CEREC crowns look like biological teeth. They are constructed from high quality and durable blocks of ceramic. Made to very precise dimensions, a CEREC crown fits beautifully over damaged and diseased teeth.
Since ceramic is white and reflects light similarly to natural teeth, patients enjoy undetectable dental work that actually improves the appearance of their smiles.
Is it really possible to have a crown placed in one appointment?
Yes! The technology that accompanies CEREC eliminates the need for using off-site dental laboratories because we can mill restorations from blocks of ceramic from our practice. Patients can have their custom dental crowns milled and placed on the same day.
I’m interested in CEREC, what should I do next?
If you’re in need of dental work, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our dentist for a CEREC consultation. After examining your oral health and the tooth (or teeth) in question, our team will be able to determine if CEREC is right for you.
